Aquarium Station & Visitor Centre is located near Brighton Palace Pier. The Visitor Centre houses an exhibition exploring the exciting history of Magnus Volk and his Railway. There is also a cafe providing hot drinks and light refreshments. A family activity trail is available for visitors to collect and take with them on their journey.

As its name suggests, the station is also a few minutes walk away from Sea Life Brighton, the world’s oldest operating aquarium, built in 1872. From here it is just a few minutes walk into the centre of Brighton.
History
Aquarium Station opened in 1883 to the west of the old Chain Pier and near the Aquarium. After the opening of Brighton Palace Pier in 1899, the station became known as ‘Palace Pier Station’. However, in 1930, Madeira Drive was widened, and the final stretch of track was lost. The station moved to its current site and reverted to its original name of ‘Aquarium Station’.
